Vulnerable Media

When you are processing collections or pulling materials for customers, please take note of any "vulnerable" media. If you find any type of AV materials such as VHS, cassette tapes, film, please email Adrienne. If you find data storage devices such as thumb drives, zip drives, floppy discs, etc., please email Emily.

In you email include the following information:

• Collection name & number
• Box number, Folder number
• Location
• Type of media
• Note if there is a specific concern (i.e. damaged, vinegar smell, improperly stored)

Even if these items do not currently seem to be a preservation risk, it is important that we are able to identify and locate media types within our collections so that we can address prior to any issues arising.
