I.
Full time Staff
A. All
full-time staff members are scheduled to work every third Saturday. Selection
of the day off following Saturday work will always be based on the operational
needs of the location or group.
B. Occasionally,
a staff member will have an event come up such as a wedding, vacation or other
event that is scheduled for a weekend when they are normally scheduled to work.
i.
Staff members are expected to switch Saturdays
with a staff member who is scheduled to work on the opposite weekend.
ii.
Switches should be arranged as far in advance as
possible and the manager, assistant manager, supervisor, and scheduler notified
of the switch via emailnot less than two weeks in advance.
1. The
both staff members that are switching shifts should be included in this email.
iii.
Responsibility for finding a party for the
switch rests on the employee who is requesting the Saturday off.
iv.
When switching Saturdays, staff may use vacation
or opt to work the day that would have been his/her day off.
C. Illness:
In cases of illness, a staff member who calls in sick on a Saturday should try
to find coverage for their Saturday within the group/location. If the illness
makes this not possible, the person-in-charge may call staff not working that
day to find coverage. A doctor’s note may be required. The staff member may be
required to work the following Saturday. If a pattern of calling in sick on
Saturday is observed, the manager will follow Positive Performance Guidelines.
