Tim and Jenni crafted language for us to use for people coming in and
asking about the Marvins Collection. Those inquiries by phone or by email can
be directed to Tim, but if someone is coming into the room I want to make sure
that we are consistent in the language we use. We are anticipating that it will
take a minimum of 3-5 years to process, or catalog, the collection and make it
accessible to the public. You can even say that it is one of the largest
collections we have ever taken and there is a great deal of work to be done and
it is currently in storage. There is the
text of an email in LIBSTATS with this explanation. When speaking with a
customer, we may want to avoid the conversation that we are not keeping the
entire collection. You can offer to send
them further information and get their email address. Tim can then send the
standard email response to them.
