Oral History Spotlight: Black History Month
The Oral History Collection at HMRC contains over 1,500 interviews with people who have had a great impact on the history of Houston or witnessed major events that have taken place in our city. This month we are featuring a few Black Houstonians who made a significant impact in Houston's art, media, education, music and architecture. Check out their stories below!
Adrienne has worked with Roland to revamp the look and the content of the Oral History Spotlight page and it looks great! The page gives patrons a way to begin exploring our extensive collection and weaves together a story of Houston's History based on a timely topic. If you hurry, you can view the oral histories featured for Black History Month. Next, Adrienne will feature women significant to the history of Houston for Women's History Month.
