Here is the current situation with the card reader that has been acting strangely:
1. When a user scans a card, the card reader informs the user of his/her balance and asks whether printing or copying.
2. After selecting copying, the user is informed of the price per copy and asked to verify by pressing ‘enter’.
3. Here the user is to press ‘enter’ LIGHTLY. Apparently, we have all been too heavyhanded with our ‘enter’ key pressings, causing the card reader to receive TWO ‘enter’ key signals in succession, thus logging the user out.
The gentlemen who worked on the unit said that they had even changed out the keypad and yet the problem remains. So spread the word… Press lightly, my friends, press lightly.
